Everyone loves receiving homemade gifts, and they're probably even sweeter when you aren't expecting one.
Our branches have designated kids' areas where they can play while their parents conduct their business. During the summer, we have had coloring stations set up for children to display their artwork. With summer coming to a close, the pictures were supposed to come down; however, one of our employees couldn't bear to throw these pictures away.
She teamed up with her branch and, together, they came up with an idea to partner with John Knox Manor assisted living community, and, instead of throwing the drawings away, gave them out to residents. While they were there, they were able to visit with the residents and share in the joy these pictures brought.
We love having the chance to connect with our community outside of our membership and are thankful for employees who also seek these opportunities out.
