2023 Guardian Championship

This year’s Guardian Championship took place September 11-17 and featured over 100 professional women’s golfers from all around the world. The championship is a 54-hole tournament on the LPGA’s Epson Tour at Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail in Prattville, Alabama.

The Guardian Championship provides a tremendous opportunity for female golfers and serves as a great financial boost to the local economy. We also aim to make an impact on the local community through the Alabama Power Junior Clinic and Family Day events. At Guardian, it is our mission to build connections in the communities we serve and provide the opportunity to create great experiences. The Guardian Championship is just one way we invest in our community, while helping these incredible athletes gain the support needed on their journey to the LPGA.

We also had the privilege of visiting Prattville Baptist Hospital for a special breakfast event—Pancakes with the Pros. The Epson Tour golfers dined with healthcare workers and took the opportunity to thank all our frontline medical workers for their continued dedication to our community.

Our family fun day was free and open to the community and included great food, Nancy’s Italian Ice, family games, and giveaways. Attendees were provided with the opportunity to catch a glimpse of the future stars of the LPGA and to get the pro’s autographs on provided golf balls. A fun time was had by all!

The competition wrapped up on Sunday with Cydney Clanton claiming the Championship trophy. Cydney shot 17-under through three rounds on the Senator Course.

The week was ended with exciting news of a contract extension, solidifying the continued partnership with Guardian Credit Union, RTJ Golf Trail, the City of Prattville, and the Epson tour that will stretch through 2026. We look forward to the next championship and all the upcoming community events that will allow us to continue making connections in our community!
