At Guardian we take pride in connecting with our local communities. Most of the time this means helping our members with their personal and financial goals in our branches. And sometimes it means dressing up like Thing 1 and Thing 2 to deliver books to local elementary schools—which is exactly what we did for Dr. Seuss' birthday! This is the third year we have held the Great Big Seussical Giveaway on social media, and we were still not expecting the overwhelming response we received!
We enjoyed learning what makes each of these classrooms and teachers so special and wanted to better show our appreciation. Our team decided to give books to three additional teachers from two more schools! These teachers were so surprised and appreciative of being able to add to their classroom libraries.
Our grand prize winner, Mrs. Eckstein's Pre-K class at Tallassee Elementary, received a set of Dr. Seuss books and a visit from Things 1 and 2 (aka Amber and Whitney from our Tallassee branch)! The students were so excited for storytime, and we had a great time meeting them. Our winners from Pike Road Elementary and Wetumpka were appreciative of the new books and couldn't wait to read them!
Being a part of our community and having the opportunity to make this kind of an impact outside of our membership is always so special.
